You don't need to have it all figured out before you start and you don't even need any previous grooming experience. Our Dog Grooming Diploma starts at the beginning and gives you the hands-on training you need to learn how to groom safely and confidently.

With our 1-2-1 approach, you'll receive uninterrupted attention on your chosen days, which allows you to build your practical skills and theoretical knowledge at your own pace.
We fully understand that exams and assessments can be daunting, which is why we offer a supportive, hands on environment, especially for students facing worries when it comes to completing course work and tests.
We believe that everyone can become a groomer and our individualised approach has been really beneficial to our students' success.
What Will I Actually Learn?
This isn't a course where you'll spend all your time watching somebody else groom. You'll learn by doing it yourself.
During your training we'll cover:

Preparing and bathing dogs safely

The aim isn't to just get you through 15 sessions, it's to help you leave knowing what you're doing and why you're doing it.

I completed my Dog Grooming Diploma at Broadway Dog Grooming Academy at the end of March 2026 and opened my own grooming studio, Calm Paws Grooming Studio, the following month.
The training at Broadway was incredibly hands-on and supportive. Amanda’s years of experience really came through in her teaching, and from the very beginning she helped instil the confidence in me to get involved, learn practically and believe that I could go on to run my own grooming business.
Since opening in April, I’ve already built a client base of over 70 dogs, with many now becoming regular returning customers. That’s probably one of the things I’m most proud of, as having customers come back time and again shows me that they value both my work and the experience I provide for their dogs.
I’m still learning every day, becoming quicker and more efficient with each groom and continuing to refine and develop my own grooming style. It’s amazing to look back and see how far I’ve come in such a short space of time.

What about Qualifications?
You will receive certification that is equivalent to a Level 3 Diploma which will allow you to gain insurance, set up a business and use your skills on your own fury clients.
You may decide that you want to take your training further with a formal qualification.
We work with a satellite centre that gives our students the opportunity to build on their training and gain additional recognised qualifications. If you'd prefer to go directly down an OFQUAL-recognised, AIM (previously OCN) or City & Guilds route, speak to us before you book.
We'll talk you through the options so you can decide which route is right for what you want to do next.
